Our mission is to promote active music making approaches in general music teacher education.

Our Mission is:

  • to demonstrate the value of Orff Schulwerk and promote its widespread use;

  • to support the professional development of our members; and,

  • to inspire and advocate for the creative potential of all learners.

The American Orff-Schulwerk Association is a professional organization of educators dedicated to the creative music and movement approach developed by Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman.

Based on the artistic and pedagogical principles of Emile Jaques-Dalcroze, the Dalcroze approach teaches an understanding of music's fundamental concepts, expressive meanings, and deep connections to other arts and activities.

The TeachArts.org website connects educators, artists and community members throughout Central California (and around the world!) who are interested in a high quality education that includes the arts for every child, in every school, every day.

The mission of the National Association for Music Education is to advance music education by encouraging the study and making of music by all.

The Gordon Institute for Music Learning (GIML) is dedicated to advancing the research in music education pioneered by Edwin E. Gordon. The purpose of the Gordon Institute for Music Learning is to advance music understanding through audiation.

In all its programs and activities, the Richards Institute of Education and Research fosters the development and well-being of children through song, play and the study of artful teaching.

Our mission is to support music education of the highest quality, promote universal music literacy and lifelong music making.
